2024
Jorja Juenemann, Golden Plains High School (Rexford, Kansas)
$6,000/year for up to 3 years to attend Oklahoma Panhandle State University. Jorja will be studying to become a teacher.
2023
Morgan Jones, Hoxie High School (Hoxie, Kansas)
$6,000/year for up to 2 years to attend North Central Kansas Technical College. Morgan will be studying nursing.
2022
Kassie Miller, Golden Plains High School (Rexford, Kansas)
$2,000/year for up to 4 years to attend Kansas State University. Kassie will be studying Animal Science and Industry.
Heath Roberson, Hoxie High School (Hoxie, Kansas)
$2,000/year for up to 2 years to attend Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture. Heath will be studying Ag Business.
Zach Cooper, Hoxie High School (Hoxie, Kansas)
$2,000/year for up to 2 years to attend Colby Community College. Zach will be studying Farm & Ranch Management.
Application
For 2024, students must apply by March 1st, 2024. A complete application includes 1) Two page application form, 2) 1-page application essay, 3) 1-page reference from an educator or community leader.
2024 Grant Selection Criteria
Candidates will be selected based on:
Application received by March 1st, 2024
US Citizen
Economic Need
Graduate of Hoxie High School or Golden Plains High School in 2024
Pursuit of a technical/vocational/bachelor’s degree starting in 2024
Area of specialization in agriculture or support of agriculture
Intent to return to an agricultural community in Kansas or Nebraska
Proven academic capability to pursue the area of interest indicated
Pursuit of education at an in-person school in Kansas or Nebraska
2024 Grant Information
Award to be announced by April 1st, 2024
Proposed Award is for TBD for the 2024/2025 school year
Award may be adjusted based on the applications received
Payments made to school of choice unless otherwise agreed
Applicable to tuition, room, & board
Award of TBD can be renewed for an additional 3 years:
Determined each year at the discretion of the trustees
Minimum of C average or equivalent from prior school year
Acceptable academic progress toward intended degree
Continued good standing at the attended school
Contingent upon funds available in the trust
Awardee must agree to release educational transcripts
Awardee must agree to be publicly recognized as an awardee
Awardee accepts any tax liabilities associated with the award
Awardee understands all awards are at the discretion of the trustees
Maintaining the Scholarship
Awards can be renewed for up to an additional 3 years (4 years total)
Student must maintain a "C" average or equivalent
Student must be in good standing at the attended school
Contingent upon funds available in the trust
All awards and continuation of awards are at the discretion of the trustees
